MY SUMMER EXPEDITION
ELEMENTARY STUDENTS WEEKLY NEWSLETTER

Week 4 recap
We wrapped up Art and Leadership camp this week with a ton of fun activities!
Art Camp w/ Meg Beech
Students made plastic mobiles and incorporated their shrinky dink beads that they made in week 3.
leadership Camp w/ paul alexander
Mr. Alexander led students in the final course of leadership where they discussed good and bad examples of leaders in history and qualities such as: humility, considering others, listening, encouraging, speaking up for those in need, and gratitude.
RECREATION/SPORTS AT BIG RUN GYM COMPLEX W/ CHASE HURLOW
Students played various games with dodgeballs and got to get their energy out. They played "Catch Me if You Can", "Backward Dodgeball", "River Bank", "Silent Ball" and more!

visit to lincoln village nursing home
Students went to Lincoln Village Nursing home where the students practiced the quality of service as a leader. They read with elderly residents, played games, served them food, and spent time talking with them. This was meaningful as one elderly man shared that majority of the residents there do not get visits from friends or family, so having the students visit was such a joy. Students wrapped up with group reflection of their time serving at the nursing home.

QUEST STORE!
Students earned Quest Dollars throughout the week based on respectful behavior. Our focus this summer is RESPECTING our leaders, other students, ourselves, buildings and supplies. At the end of the week, students visited our Quest Store and bought prizes with their Quest Dollars.
meals
Students were provided z-bars, chobani smoothies and apple juice for breakfast and chicken wraps or chicken/cheese burgers with fruit cups for lunch.
